Louisville Regional Airport Authority contracted with Hanson Professional Services, Inc. to trim or remove trees that penetrate, or will penetrate, approaching Federal Aviation air surfaces at Bowman Field. BDC provided landscape design consultation for affected property owners, guiding them through a tree replacement and landscape enhancement process. BDC managed this project and provided inspections of the tree and landscape installations. The program required coordination of tree replacements for private residential properties, Louisville Metro Parks, Big Springs Country Club, and the airport property. Key components of the process included planning for ecological and function tree diversity while preserving the long-term viability and safety of the existing runway approaches.
