Master plan completed in 2016
BDC was hired to prepare a tree master plan to guide the replacement of dead and declining trees over time as funding became available. Located in eastern Jefferson County, The City of Langdon Place is a one hundred fifteen acre neighborhood with approximately 1000 residents. The predominant tree species originally planted along the streets were Ash and had fallen into significant decline due to the impact of the Emerald Ash Borer. The project mission was to increase tree canopy, increase tree species diversity, improve health of trees, and reduce storm water runoff. Over four hundred fifty trees have been planted in the community since the completion of the master plan, resulting in tree-lined streets that form a walking arboretum.
