Working under the auspices of an active neighborhood organization, this project was designed to improve the tree canopy by planting diverse and healthy trees within the historic Clifton neighborhood along Frankfort Avenue. The streetscape plan forms a walkable arboretum that enhances livability, improves the urban commercial environment, and reduces stormwater runoff. The plan guides store owners and citizens to improve the character and sustainability of Frankfort Avenue. Consensus building strategies for the project included several meetings with an established stakeholder group, a public meeting, and a final document approved by the Clifton Architectural Review Committee. BDC supported facilitation of a multi-faceted community engagement process throughout this project.
