Jefferson Memorial Forrest Community Engagement

Jefferson Memorial Forest (JMF) is the largest municipal forest in the United States, consisting of over 7,000 acres of ecologically sensitive forested land. In 2025, Louisville Metro selected the consulting firm MKSK and their sub-consultants to create a comprehensive master plan for the forest. BDC’s role was to help develop and facilitate a far reaching and inclusive community engagement strategy. The community engagement process included attending community events and setting up interactive displays aimed to gain valuable public feedback, creating online surveys, and helping to facilitate focus group meetings.
