Muhammad Ali Int. Airport Landside

The Landside Master Plan, completed in spring of 2019, proposes a series of visionary improvements to Louisville’s main airport, aimed at transforming this regional gateway into a beautiful modern transportation hub. BDC worked with a team of consultants, focusing on improving the overall visitor experience through enhanced circulation for pedestrians, transit, and vehicles. Additionally, a comprehensive landscape design was developed for Terminal Drive and other open space areas throughout the landside sections of the airport. BDC carried out extensive research to select a palette of plants that do not attract wildlife, especially birds, while emphasizing adapted and native species.
