St. Gabriel endeavored to create a half-acre natural play park for its school, parish, and the Fern Creek community by acquiring land adjacent to its existing campus. Through a highly collaborative process, BDC developed programming, prepared the master plan, supported the fundraising initiative, and brought the natural play park design to fruition. The project was completed in the spring of 2018. Organized around a primary path system, the natural playground has a series of themed play areas accommodating children from pre-kindergarten through middle school. The design incorporates interactive water play, a music garden, sand play, a ga-ga pit, and other play elements with an overall natural look and feel.
